Agent 1.9 Goes To Beta -- At Last!

We know a lot of patient folks are wondering what happened to that 3rd quarter release date of Agent 1.9. Well, it seems that once again our chief programmer, Mark, was a little too optimistic in his estimates. And, you know what? We fall for it every time.

But, we are making progress. We just released a preliminary build to our beta testers. While they pound on it, Mark will squash a few more bugs. We'll release 1.9 to the general public just as soon as we can.

Agent 1.9 introduces a Trashcan feature that allows users to logically delete messages or entire newsgroups before they are permanently deleted. When users delete a message or group, the deleted item is placed in Agent's Trashcan. Items in the Trashcan are deleted permanently when the user empties the Trashcan.

Agent 1.9 is a free upgrade for all registered users of Agent.

We are continuing to work on the next major release, Agent 2.0. A list of features will be posted on the web site in the near future. When you download Agent 1.9, you will have an opportunity to vote on the features you want to see in Agent 2.0.

Regards,

The Forté Team
